Yes, when I asked the Bean what the new bear's name was, she looked around the bedroom and said "Her name is Door!"
All in all a very easy pattern. I did not knit the arms and stuff them while knitting as the pattern instructed. I knit the entire body and left the head open. Stitched the crotch shut, knit the arms, and then stuffed up to the top of the head. Closed off the head, and voila...she was done. The Bean picked the eyes, and I stitched the nose with a little bit of black DK alpaca I found sitting around in stash. I did not do the duplicate stitch around the neck. I have never done duplicate stitch before, so I was a little apprehensive as to how it would look. We all think she looks fine without it. A little thick around the neck, but cuddly none the less.
One thing to note before you start this pattern; I bought the pattern when if first came out, and there was a error in the instructions for the ears. It said to cast on two stitches and it was supposed to be three. Phyl-Phyl clued me in, so luckily I didn't have to sit and reknit the ears eight times before I figured out what was wrong. The pattern might be fixed now, but check before you start.
Tonight's dinner table comment:
Me: What are you going to be for Halloween this year?
Bean: I think Cinderella...like when she gets married. (she has been Cinderella for two years now)
Husband: And who is going to be your husband?
Bean: You! (points at Husband)
Bean: Well, I don't have a husband because I am not big like you guys. Someday when I am big, then I will get a husband...and that's just the way it is!
Nice to know she is thinking ahead...to Halloween and beyond ;-)
