Seems like FOREVER since I posted about knitting, but yes, I have been working on things.
Orangina - She will be making her way to the beach on Saturday. I have the front finished and a few inches of the back. Although when I took the front off of the needles, I realized it was about an inch too short (I forgot what size I was aiming for). I should be able to finish while on vacation. Would be nice to wear this one before the weather decides to drop back down to 40 degrees.
Wavy Scarf - This was actually a "rebound" project. I bought some Lorna's Laces Lion & Lamb (color #630-Bittersweet) at KH to make the scarf they featured in their Summer newsletter. I loved the look of the scarf in the picture, but let's just say my version was less than desirable. I didn't want to end up throwing this lovely yarn in stash to ferment for a few years, so I decided to make the the Wavy Scarf from Stitch-n-Bitch Nation. Easy pattern, cute scarf. I have a few more "waves" to go until the length is set.
Klaralund - I know what you're thinking "What is she doing knitting with wool in the middle of summer?" Well, I have had this yarn in stash for months now, and I needed something mindless for the trip to Hatteras (an average 6-7 hr car ride). This Kureyon feels like knitting with baling twine after knitting with silk and cotton for the past few months! (For all you urban girls, "baling twine" is what they use to hold bales of hay and straw together.) I love the way the colors are knitting up. My only concern is with the size. I have a 35" bust, so I figured the 34" (small) would be a little tight...especially since I plan to wear something under this sweater. I decided to do the medium (38") to be on the safe side (my gauge is running a little tight). But, I have heard that this yarn grows considerably, so we will have to see. Gauge swatch...what gauge swatch?
